Sunday Funday - Zilker Botanical Garden

We skipped Grace's 4th grade field trip to the Bob Bullock Museum and instead headed to the Zilker Botanical Garden with two friends! We choose the ZBG because Grace recently discovered her talent with nature photography! The ZBG gave Grace and her friend ample material of amazing nature to photograph!

The Zilker Botanical Garden is located downtown Austin, next to Zilker Park. We arrived right as the gate opened at 9AM and paid $8 for two non-Austin residents adults and two kids.

The ZBG is currently displaying the Woodland Faerie Trail Exhibit which was fun to explore and marvel at people's creativity!

We explored the gardens for about 2 hours and were ready to be done thanks to hunger and the heat of Texas basking down on us!

I definitely recommend the ZBG as a great outdoor activity for all ages! The kids can run around and enjoy the sites.

In the Japanese Garden area there are some more treacherous trails that are not wheelchair or walker friendly but most of the garden is.

ZBG is great for professional portraits as well. We saw a few high school graduates getting their pictures done when we went and have seen bridal and pregnancy portraits as well.

Happy Sunday and enjoy exploring your 'hood!
