In August 2017, my sister-in-law and brother-in-law invited the Phelan Phamily to join them for a day on the lake. I had settled into the fact that I was 180+ lbs and had resigned to a life of wearing bathing suits with skirts. My sister-in-law, Emily, on the other hand, decided to refocus her energies on losing weight and being as healthy as she could. Emily had lost 25+ lbs and was sporting a bikini, with confidence! I thought all was fine and dandy until I looked at the pictures of me sitting on the jet-ski. Not cute. So not cute, I can't even share with you as I wisely deleted the picture!
Under Emily's guidance I
enrolled with BeachBody so I could take advantage of the unlimited videos on
demand and started drinking the Shakeology's. Slowly but surely, I have lost 25
lbs!!
What have I done to lose the extra lbs? Quite a few things to be honest. First and foremost, I have radically and dramatically changed my diet! I knew all the stops at Diary Queen for Blizzards or for french fries, burgers, and custards at Freddy's wasn't good for me, but MAN was it awful for my waist line! In addition to drinking a Shakeology everyday and exercising, I went old school and downloaded the weight watchers app on my phone. Tracking my food was a game changer! Also, my fit bit syncs to my Weight Watchers app so I earn extra points for exercising! Yea!!
So "they" say weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise, and while I have been monitoring my food intake and swapping out my processed sugar sweets for more natural sweets, I have added in the exercise too. I have always been a fan of walking but now I get up at the crack of dawn and walk the dog! I treasure this time in the morning as I am able to start my day with a "gratitude" walk and can plan my priorities for the day and I get in 3000 steps before my girls get out of bed. I do struggle with ensuring I make the time for my BeachBody on Demand workouts, which I do enjoy. I have tried a variety of programs from kickboxing to yoga to weight training. I love the ability to work out at my convenience by myself. I did enjoy working out at Gold's and the classes were great, but getting my hinny to the gym was the most difficult part and I rarely did.

My goal with the health journey
is not to shove BeachBody down your throat but to simply share what has worked
with me. Not only BeachBody but some other products as well.

Recently I tried on some dresses I bought a few years ago (still with the tags on) that didn't fit and once I tried them on, I shouted out with glee and raced to show my family, twirling all about! What an exciting feeling to be able to go shopping in my own closet!
Good health is very important
to me! My greatest desire on Earth is to be an actively engaged grandmother! I
did not have an actively engaged Grandmother and neither do my children. I
honestly believe my Dad would have been an amazing Granddaddy if his brain didn't
fail him. So my goal isn't to just feel confident wearing my clothes but to be
healthy inside too! I want to be the grandmother that can babysit her
grand-kids and go on adventures, not just sit on the side lines.
I am so proud of you! You look amazing, and I know you feel great, too!- Emily
