We are Girls Conference - Girls Empowerment Network

Wow. Really that is all I can say about the "We are Girls" conference this past Saturday sponsored by the Girls Empowerment Network!

https://www.girlsempowermentnetwork.org/

I highly recommend my Austin and Houston friends with girls in grades 3rd-8th to plan on attending this event next year!

The event was at a local high school from 9AM-3PM. The registration process was quite simple and the tickets were $20 for pre-registration and then $30 for regular registration. GEN donates almost half of their tickets so finances should not scare anyone away.

The high school was decorated with the most amazing, uplifting, inspiring, touching posters welcoming the girls into the building! They had a spirit squad that was cheering the girls on as they walked into the building (their genuine enthusiasm brought tears to my eyes).

The first hour was a pep rally and a wonderful presentation by a woman whose goal was to empower the girls to believe in their best selves.

Then there were the most amazing and creative workshops to choose from. My girls and 4 other Girl Scouts attended workshops on growth mindset presented by GEN, LED bracelets presented by GirlStart  https://girlstart.org/, and a yoga class that included stations teaching breathing and gratitude presented by The Little Yoga House https://thelittleyogahouse.com/  It was difficult choosing just these three as all the workshops were incredible!

The workshops for the 6-8th graders were tailored to their higher maturity level and concerns. GEN also included workshops only for parents.

The high school girls get their own multiple day conference at another time.

It was a day very much well spent!
