Sunday Funday - McKinney Falls State Park

The last 3 years or so, the girls have treasured spending their first week of summer exploring McKinney Falls State Park as a camper with Earth Native Wilderness School! They get to learn all about nature and play in the creek and get filthy! This year, they were able to add learning and using knives to their list of to-do's!

McKinney Falls is a bit of a drive from Leander so I try to stay close by to avoid the excessive driving back and forth. As I shared with the Blue Hole post last week, we are in a bit of a drought so the water levels were significantly lower than in previous years.

I still was able to find tree-covered spots to observe nature and relax. One morning I was able to enjoy one of the many hiking trails.

McKinney Falls is close to Austin but far away enough so you can really be emerged in nature!
