Sunday we ventured down to Austin for a Girl Scout workshop at the Kappa Delta house at University of Texas!
We came across super fun murals off the drag!

The Kappa Delta's focussed on working with the girls on building confidence!
Their slogan is to "Go Confidently"!
The first activity was an ice-breaker in which all the girls (Girl Scouts and KD's) put a blank sheet on their backs.
The girls went around and wrote very positive statements about the girl.
Seeing everyone's faces reading the positive statements was so heart-warming! I will definitely be doing this activity with my Girl Scout troops!
The second activity was to make friendship bracelets as a reminder about positive statements for and about other people.
The third activity was defining a "Queen" in your life and then drawing and writing down descriptions of your the Queen.
My sweet love child, Caroline, choose me as her Queen. Ahhhh!
The last activity was to create a vision board with positive statements. The clincher was the KD's giving the Girl Scouts very specific, heartfelt, positive statements on notecards! The original positive statements on the blank pieces of paper were more generic and focused on the physical traits. The notecards that went on the vision board were about statements about traits that were shown during the workshop.
We very much look forward to the next Girl Scout workshop hosted by the Kappa Delta ladies in December! I felt they were well prepared, organized, engaging, and interested in the girls!
